I have dvd lab pro 2, it ask me whether I want to demultiplex the audio and video or just leave it alone. It tells me either will work, but that I may encounter loss of audio if something isn't right. I would perfer to not demultiplex my mpeg2s. All of them are dvd compliant and encoded in TMPGenc with mp2 audio. So, will I be ok to just use the multiplexed file in the dvd lab authoring program? will I have errors with my audio? if so, do i need to demultiplex?
Thanks for any help.

I've never demuxed...

I only ever produce elementary streams, so demuxing is never an issue for me. Personally, I believe the best and most consistent results will come from working with elementary streams when using DLP. Most of the issues that people report with audio sync and stuttering can be traced back to bot demuxing (although there is also a lot of use of suspect encoders like WinAVI as well - not a problem here)
Test a few out. If they work and your happy, go for it. If you find that some don't work the way you expected, demux and try again.Read my blog here.

Hmmm. Have you ever tried using a VOB for authoring without demuxing? If you want to add chapter points, they'll be off or the compialtion will be aborted. I'm not sure if the same would happen with an MPEG file, but it can't harm to demux it first.

Thanks for all the responses. But i'm wanting to save space by not demuxing. So i just need a straight answer if anyone knows for sure or from experience if using muxed mpeg2s in Dvd Lab Pro will possibly cause any problems.
So far i have had none, but just want to check and make sure before i make a final version of my DVDs. (I am making about 15 "Master" DVD's in a set that will be copied for other people. Just want them to work properly!)
Thanks again, all repsonses are very helpful. -
There are no guarantees either way, as there are too many factors, however from my experience, more people have problems because they don't demux. Like I said, I only use elementary streams, and never have problems. By using programme streams, you increase the likelihood that you will encounter problems. Does this mean you definitely will - no, but the chances are much higher.
