I just got a TDK Velocd and Nero 5.5 last weekend. First thing I tried to burn some VCDs. The problem... all but 2 play for a while then strat to get jumpy and freeze or end they playback. I have a Phillips DVD player which is VCD and CD-R compatable. I am using TDK CD-Rs and the Nero VCD encoder & burner. The files I am encoding are DIVX/AVI. I tried re-encoding and reburning some of the files and they seem to have problems in the same places as the original attempt did. My guess is that the problem is in the encoding process..
SO my question: is this a common problem? is it a bad burn and I just have to live with it? Is it a problem with the Nero encoding process (i.e. would different encoding software help)? Is it a codec problem? Bitrate too high? Any adjustments I can make? Or are the files just not robust enough to encode and burn?
Help?
Thanks,
Michael.

If you encoded an avi(divx) file to MPEG, this things can happen.I have a Philips player too, and that are things that are happening to me.
I have no problems when I am encoding from vobs directly, only with divx.
