    Hi guys!

I was wondering how I could adjust my screen resolution so I can make it smaller.

Does anyone know what I need to do?! Any help would be great!

    - Oh, I almost forgot, I uploaded a Word file with a pic of my display properties in it for you
    - Also, I have a Dell Inspiron 600m

Can you download the manual to your computer and actually read it.

I put a link to it in that other post you made.

That manual should have the answers to all your questions.

You have a laptop - there isn't much you can do. Most LCD displays on laptops use the whole thing even if you drop the resolution. e.g., if the native resolution of the display is 1024 x 768 and you choose 800 x 600 via Windows, it will still take up the full size of the display and look quite awful.

  5. Right click on screen then left on Properties, then go to settings tab. There you have screen resolution. The bigger the numbers get the smaller things look infact you increase resolution to fit more on the screen.

Very difficult to impossible in a laptop to upgrade the video card.
If you go to your Display>Settings>Advanced>Adapter>List All Modes, that's all the selections available for your card. But your laptop display will work best at it's native resolution, which is probably 1024 X 768. Any other size won't look good. However, you can click on your 'Monitor' tab and uncheck 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display' and you should see some other resolutions. That doesn't mean you can display them, though. And read the cautions below that checkbox.

I think the real question is: Why do you need to make it smaller?

Hi guys! Thanks for all the posts...and yes, I'm not reading the Manual like it's the last newspaper on earth.

redwudz...you hit the nail on the head I think...I followed your instructions to a tee and I could not get past 1024x768...however, I could "see" more options following your detailed post.

Anyway, thought I'd give it a chance...thanks very much...and be sure I'll be back!

    Thanks guys!
