    I tried watching the latest fansubbed anime from Wolf Pack Productions (Digimon 02, ep 16) and the video quality is awful and very pixeliated if I used Windows Media Player 10 or Classic but looks great when I play using VLC.

    I downloaded the latest codec pack and also downloaded the latest Matroska just in case the container got changed but that didn't help at all.

    Bad encoding, touchy video player, or what?

    the general consensus is codec paks are bad news..only download what you need.

    WMP and MPC are most likely using a different codec than VLC, hence the difference in quality.

    And as greymalkin stated above, codec packs are usually more trouble than they are worth.
