  1. Hi there,

What I would like to do is to convert DVR-MS files to a file I can edit in Adobe.

I guess AVI would be the type. I'm not too sure. I've been searching the internet for the past few hours, and everyone has their own way to convert this file type.

I tried one using GraphEdit, it's explained here:
    http://homepage.mac.com/james.clay/iblog/B894479528/C412085241/E1904142383/index.html

I get this message, when I try to connect the pins up:
These filters cannot agree on a connection. Verify type compatibility of input pin and output pin.

No Combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. (Return code: 0x80040217)

This seems to be the best way, as in no loss of quality.

I had some other ways working, but the sound would screw up.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

VideoReDo can open it and save as a normal MPEG-2 file. The DVR-MS file is just an MPEG with extra info added into the stream, just like a VOB file.

Then you can convert the MPEG-2 into anything you want, including the AVI that will work in the NLE (like Adobe Premiere).

    That's how.

  5. Yes, but VideoReDo is shareware.

I solved the problem by re-reading the instructions, and doing EXACTLY what it said.

I got too ahead of myslef and tried to connect the dots myself, but that link I posted said exactly how to do it.

  6. I've just found a problem.

I converted a file which was about half an hour long. There seemed to be no noticeable Lip-Sync errors.

I then converted a file which was about 1 Hour and 15 Minutes long, and by the end, the footage was totally out of sync.

If I could cut the DVR-MS file into little blocks, I think there would be no Lip Sync errors then, anyone know how to cut files in Graph Edit?

  7. Man, I must've jinxed myself, I've found another problem.

Depending on what channel I record, it might might be able to convert.
