Some time ago you kindly arranged SVCD2DVD to convert dvr-ms files. I used it for a while and all went fine.

I haven't had any need for a bit, and then went to do a conversion once again. The dvr-ms file (recorded by Media Center off Freeview) makes the odd claim of being NTFS at 59.94 fps. (SVCD2DVD says that, Windows properties says 59 fps and does not say the format). When converted by SVCD2DVD to .mpg format it does not play correctly (too fast with bad artefacts, even though the file size is similar to the original). The original is fine when played by (for example) VLC or Windows Media Player.

    Any ideas? Thanks, Stephen

  2. Did you meant NTSC?
Can you attach your log file here?

Thanks for quick response. Yes, I meant NTSC (silly me). I include a (truncated) log that should have all you need.

I posted (or meant to post) an addenda early this morning, but it does not seem to have made it (I probably forget to press 'send'?) ....

I tried with various bits of software such as VLC and ffmpeg and they failed too in various ways. Several could play but not convert (no output or corrupted output). Finally, I did get a sensible conversion with the ffmpeg in the current version of DVRMSToolbox. The command line that generated was ...

    C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox>"C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\Applications\Ffmpeg\ffmpeg_MPGM UX.exe" -y -i "xxx.dvr-ms" -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f dvd "xxx.mpg"

    ~~
log from that for info in case it helps .... maybe the critical hint is
"Seems stream 1 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 25.00 (25/1) -> 50.00 (50/1)"
