hi, can anyone help, im using belight and trying convert a ntsc (23.976) ac3 file thats 5.1 448kbps to a PAL (25.000) ac3 file with the same bitrate and 5.1 channels.

everytime i convert it, the ending file ends up the same filesize and same framerate, and yes if set the setting right in advanced settings.

wierd thing is, if i do the same thing ntsc 5.1 448kbps ac3 file to pal 2.0 448kbps ac3 file. It works fine and converts the frame rate.

any help would be sweet, thanks.

Since when does "sound" have framerate info? Sound only have sampling rate and channels (and bit resolution).

besweets framerates are just a representation to try ot make it similar to video. It has no basis in actual fact, just a front end device.

I would ask why you are converting. Most, if not all, players and TVs in the UK will accept NTSC material. Format conversion, especially by software, is almost always more trouble than it's worth, and always reduces the quality of the material. If you must convert, use the DGPulldown method, which avoids the need to alter the audio at all.

The FilmMachine does it perfectly using besweet and gives you a nice corresponding AVS script with correct 4:3/16:9 sizing and borders to load into the encoder of your choice.
Also supports multiple similar AVI input and txt subs.

    EDIT:
Heres a log of what it does.
