Try a software dvd player like powerdvd. Most have a little icon that usually looks like a camera to take snapshots. Most will save as a bmp though some may go straight to .jpg.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

DVDAuthorGUI... I believe that your pictures must be 720x480 to make the menus. If they already are, then no problem, but if you're picture is being captured in 4:3 format (640x480) then DVDAuthorGUI will not find a compliant image to make a menu with. Check it and resize to 720x480. If it already is, try resampling the picture. I know that my images in Photoshop are usually rejected becasue DVDAuthorGUI can't read that "high" of a quality image. I have to keep saving at lower quality values until DVDAuthorGUI will take it.

Just some of the menu image pitfalls I've run into using DVDAuthorGUI. (Not knocking the program... I use it exclusively because it ROCKS!!! ... you know... and it's free...)

One way around that is to save it as a uncompressed bmp. The m2v creation funtion will accest bmp as a valid format.

Thanks , but the real props need to go to the open source community for being diligent in writing the software that they do.
