  1. I am trying to convert the main movie VOBs of The Incredibles to MPEG. I do a main movie only rip with Decrypter, playback of the resultant VOBs in PowerDVD is perfect. I process the VOBs with VOB2MPEG, the resultant MPEG has alot of skips in playback and has a lot of pixelation artifacts when I playback with WMP.

    What can be done to determine the problem and resolve it? Thanks.

  3. Haven't tried other players. From MPEG I am converting to WMV-HD with Windows Media Encoder, and the WMV file has the same problem as the MPEG. Codec issue maybe?

  4. Regardless of the codec I try, the same issue happens. Strangely, I tried MPC and playback was fine.

    Ideas anyone?

    I have a new version which you are welcome to try to see if that issue is gone. Drop me an email...
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    So it does sound like a codec issue then. As PowerDVD plays the vobs ok how does that handle the mpegs? Also what are you trying to do? If your goal is just to replay the mpeg - what is wrong with playing with MPC?

  8. I am trying to convert the MPEG to WMV-HD with Windows Media Encoder, and because WME uses the same subsystem to import that WMP uses for playback, the playback issues are prevalent in the import and subsequent conversion.

    What is the most recommended freeware MPEG2 codec that is WMP compatible? I've tried nVidia PureVideo, but I can't seem to make WMP use that codec for MPEG2 files, only for DVDs.

  9. Just an FYI, I tried de-muxing the video and audio separate, then re-muxing to am MPEG file with Imago-MPEGMuxer. Playback is perfect.
