If it has a VGA input that is an analog RGB connection that will work with square pixel computer resolutions like 800x600, 1024x768.

The display card DVI-I connector has pins for analog VGA or digital DVI-D. DVI-D can be adapted for the HDMI connector with the right cable. HDTV resolutions are 480i/480p/720p and 1080i. Your set most closely matches 720p.

The manual on my tv says one of the display modes for the pc input(vga) is 1360x768. It says this is for VESA????
it says i can set this resolution in the display properties

  6. If your computer graphics card supports that resolution, yes

Many of the newer video cards do support widescreen resolutions like 1280x720, etc.

  8. I wish they would stop using acronyms like VGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA, WXGA, WSXGA, WUXGA7. Who can remember them all? Soon the acronyms will be longer than just stating the resolution!

  11. The VESA acronyms for resolution really have nothing to do with cable nomenclature. VGA cables (the analog 15 pin DIN connector as defined by the first VGA card from IBM back in the 80's) can be used for all of them. It think some manufactures use SVGA for cables that are rated for higher bandwidths. They give a clearer picture at high resolutions.

how do they measure bandwith. in other words wher ewould i look for thhe bandwith number on the case of the vga cable, or on a websitge in the description. its not in the description in websites

  13. A good quality 15 pin SVGA cable will be fine, especially if it is less than 15 ft long

Cables longer than 15 ft need to be higher quality, low loss type
