I want to connect my computer to my flatpanel hdtv. I do not have dvi or hdmi on my computer so i am just going to use a vga cable. My qs is should i get a svga cable ? what is the diff. which will work better. Thanks

The names are pretty much used interchangeably. Technically, a VGA cable must only carry 640x480 60 Hz analog video, SVGA 800x600 60 Hz. But most VGA/SVGA cables are capable of carrying much higher resolutions (1600x1200, 2048x1536) and refresh rates. The differences between different quality (S)VGA cables will show up as blurry images. Most HDTVs that accept (S)VGA will top out around 1280x1024. So the cable will rarely be problem. Unless you are running very long cables.
