    Says it all.

6-ohm Infinity speakers to 8-ohm Harman Kardon 6.1 receiver with 40-watts/channel. The dealer said no problem. Thanks.

  2. Check your manual, but you should be OK. Are your speakers a 6.1 surround sound speaker set?

Your system says it's rated for 8ohm so you should be good.

They are old 4-inch bookshelf speakers normally used in the front. I intend to use these as my satellites because it sounds better than the Harman Kardon's. They are not magnetically shielded though but no obvious interference when place near my TV. I am just worried that its lower resitance will do some damage to the receiver overtime. Thanks.

as long as you have other speakers connected, you should be fine. If you check you manual, you'll probably find there's a grey are in which they can operate. It's generally 4-8ohm, but it all depends on who manufactured it.
