  1. I have a set of VOB that encompass a DVD. My objective is to edit commericals from the VOB files. I successfully used VOBtoMPG and then MPeG VCR to do one set. It worked awesome. I went to do the second set, but found the end is cut off. It seems VOBtoMPG will not include the VT_01_4.VOB file.

So I thought I would make an ISO file with DVD shrink, then convert it back to MPG or VOB somehow. However I'm stuck on how to do this. Any suggestions?

    thanks

you can mount it with daemon tools or open it with ISO buster. Generally, if you want to edit it, ISO is not the best format to save it in. It would actually be quicker to re-rip to file mode.

Or, open the disk image with DVD Shrink, set compression to 'No Cpmression', and back it up to a HDD folder.

In DVD Shrink can I save it to something other than an ISO file? I'm feeling stupid, but can't seem save it back to the VOB files which I would have loved to have done in the first place. The file structure was downloaded so I can't re-rip. It exists on the HDD, but seems "corrupt" by the way it behaves in VOBtoMPG. I was hoping to redo the structure. To try again. I was messing with putting it back on as an image with Daemon and using DVD decrypter, but sticking with DVD shrink would be much better.

    Thanks

When you select 'Backup' you get a series of options. One is an ISO, or ISO and burn with . . .

One of the other options is Backup to a folder on HDD. This is the one you need to choose to get your VOB files.

Persoanlly, I wouldn't use DVD Shrink to rip - I would use DVD Decrypter, even for unencrypted disks. It is still the best ripper around.

thanks for the help. that will work.
I had also mounted it with daemon and extracted the file structure with dvd decrypter and then it worked. Stayed in sync too.

    thanks again
