I downloaded AutoGK v2.20 Setup and read the website tutorial, and it says "XviD 1.x.x is included with the main AutoGK Install Package." So, what happens if/when I install AutoGK v2.20, does it's version of XviD overwrite/conflict with the later version of XviD (v2.1) I already have installed on my PC? Or has the tutorial not been updated?

No way you have v2.1 installed. Newest version in the cvs is v1.2 and it really isn't any different currently than 1.1.x.
The build included with AutoGK is my compile from when ever it was released along with a modified VfW front end to include additional MTK profiles. It will over right any XviD build installed. -
Well, I thought that's what I have installed... when I select "XviD video compression" in VirtualDubMod and click the "About" button, it says "Core version 2.1". I couldn't find a reference to a version number anywhere else, so if I misunderstood, I apologize.
So the upshot is, if I install AutoGK 2.0, then I'll get the latest version of XviD, which will overwrite what I currently have (v?.?), and everything will still work correctly with VirtualDubMod? -
Sounds like maybe you have an old devapi-3 build installed. I would suggest uninstalling it first since it used different files (xvid.dll and xvid.ax instead of xvidcore.dll, xvidvfw.dll and xvid.ax).
You won't get the latest, but it will be fairly recent. -
Here's some more info from my version's "About" screen:
July 16, 2003
and below the web URL is:
(Vanilla CVS Build)
GPL's MPEG4 video codec demonstration.
For educational purposes only.
So, any idea what version I have? But the bigger question is, if I install AutoGK 2.0, will it's version of XviD still work correctly with VDubMod (after uninstalling my version of XviD first)?
