I just updated to v2.9.5.8 because of the new Sony protection. It fixed my problems on Stealth but not Bewitched. When I open Fab and hit the start button Fab errors out and ask for my email address to send report. Its fabs error report not windows xp. Any ideas on whats going on?

    Thanks alot!!

Sounds like either a dirty disc, or the drive is having problems reading the end of the disc. I've had to run new discs through a Game DR to clean "manufacturing debris" from them - not to mention well placed fingerprints!

As to the chances the drive won't read the disc: I use two drives in my desktop - a Plextor for burning, and an old Toshiba 4X (which produces horrible burns) for reading only - Why, the Plextor just can't get to the end everytime. I'd read it in another forum that good burners do not necessarily make good readers, and have to admit it's true.

A machine that I built for a friend (2 NEC 3520's) couldn't read some CDRWs burned on that machine. He gave the discs to me to check out, and I did recover his data on the Toshiba drive - the Plextor couldn't see anything.

If you have a DVD-ROM drive available, try a rip with that - if it gets to the end of the disc without issues, you might want to consider installing a DVDROM drive in your machine.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Classfour, good info. I don't have an extra DVD-Rom. All I have is a NEC 3540 burner. I have never had a problem reading any disk yet. It could be like you said scratched from the kids. I tried cleaning it with a disk cloth but did not work. How well does those CD doctors/cleaners work? What is a good brand to look into?

    Again thanks for you help!
