I have a surround sound package for my computer; a really loud Logitech one. It's frickin' great. But the way my computer is positioned in the room there isn't a good place to put the rear speakers. I've had the speakers for a while, never really having set up the rear speakers properly. So I decided to remedy that. That was when I realized how friggin' expensive speaker stands are.

the cheapest ones I could find were $100. All I want is a stick with a base that can hold a speaker. does it really need to be so freakin expensive?

Just thought i'd pass that along

  2. Yes it needs to be that freaking expensive

I shelled out $250 for four cast iron black adjustable stands and they help to make the side speakers unobtrusive in my small lounge. Those cheap aluminum or steel telescoping ones can't hold a decent weight and look crappy imo. You need a heavy base too to avoid accidents.

If you search or are handy at DIY you could always build your own out of wood.

-edit- Sound is better too if directed at "reclining" ear height.

offline is right. but in perspective you can go with less. logitech computer speakers are not of a fidelity that they will suffer from lesser stands. the problem is finding them. here are some stands that are overkill and less than $100.00.

they have several different models if you don't care for those.

NO. (if you have tools & skills, you could build 'em for $20!)
