Hi everyone. Long time reader, first time post.
I've got a DivX encoded avi that appears jerky with movements and panning. The avi is at 25 fps, and I played it on both the Philips 642 machine and my computer, both show herky movement. When run thru Virtualdub, I noticed that every third frame is missing, which accounts for the jerky movement.
Short of a re-encode from the original, I don't think there is any way to fix this, correct? Besides, why would the original encoder delete every third frame?
Thanks!

Oooooh, that's right. My brain is trained to go from PAL to NTSC. Makes sense. Thanks!
