ok I have a video on a disc that I bought from a website about them going to Nintendo Spaceworld in 2001 for the launch of the gamecube.

Unfortunately I want to take the WMV off teh disc and burn it to VCD so I can watch it on TV. But when I try to copy it from the disc I get a Cyclic Redundacy check error.

Is there a problem with the disc or with my PC?

And am I SOL on ever getting the file off the disc so I can make a VCD.

well you have a couple of options.

If you have a capture card you hook up a dvd player and capture it in realtime.

But you're probably better off using another ripper like dvddecrypter or dvdfabdecrypter.

Also is the disc scratched? Thats a symptom of that error also.

ive had the same problem with dvds and dvdfabdecrypter solved the problem where dvddecrypter and dvdshrink failed.
I love it when a plan comes together!

    Well here's the thing...

    It's not a DVD.

It's a CD with a WMV file on it. I want to take the WMV off of it, so I can burn it to DVD.

I can't because as it's copying to the folder I have, it give that error.
