  1. Hi i am trying to convert an avi with tmpgenc to dvd..BUT..the resulting file is way to big to go onto dvd its like 8 gig...I dont want to split it either..i want it on one disk i know it can be done but how???
    And yes my disks are only 4.7gig ones

    Bitrate, bitrate, bitrate..Simple as that...Lower it..I use VideoCalc for my bitrate caluculations when doing conversions (too lazy to do the math myself ). And if your video has PCM/Wav audio, try AC3...MP2 audio would also work in PAL land.

  3. Before you re-encode try authoring and use DVDShrink to reduce the size. If it's not good enough then you'll need to re-encode with a lover birate. You can find a bitrate calculater in the tools section.
    Or if you know the length of the video, I usually use the average of 8k for 1 hour, 6k for 1.5 hour's, 4k for 2 hour's, you get the picture, the longer the video the worse the quality will be.
