  1. I've heard some folks author & render in one program then burn the DVD using another program. Any advantages to that? I been using Studio 9 for the complete projects, which are photoshows of my children. I'm starting a new project with 1000+ pictures, with many chapters and added music, and looking at all options for that smooth professional look. Thanks.

    Yes. If you author the dvd to your hard drive you can then check it with a software viewer like power dvd or mediaplayer classic to verify that you authored it correctly. Also the burning engines built into some authoring apps are not as good as the burning engines of dedicated burning apps like nero and others. I personally prefer to create an iso with img tools classic and then burn the iso with dvd decrypter.
