    Hi guys!

I have 2 AVI files that are in Russian and would like to be able to convert the files so that they can be authored and burnt onto a dvd, in the same folder as the AVI's are also 2 .txt files which when the AVI is opened using VLC Media Player the english subtitles are displayed but if the AVI is opened with say Windows Media then there are no subs.

Is there anyway i can 'fix' the subs to the AVI so that when its converted/authored the final version that is burnt to disk will display the subtitles?

Do you want a standard dvd-video? Then just use a converting tool with subtitle support like dvd flick, convertxtodvd. Just open the avi and the subtitle files and convert.

Yeah all i would usually do is convert an AVI using ConvertXtoDVD then re-author using TMPGEnc DVD Author then just burn with Nero

If you use tmpgenc dvd author to reauthor you will lose the switchable subtitles that convertxtodvd adds. If you are using latest tmpgenc dvd author 3 I think you can import some subtitles format.

For TMPGEnc i am only using version 1.6.

When trying to add the subs with ConvertX the option 'Add subtitle channel' is there but not avalible to use (its greyed out) and i cannot add it as a file
