  1. Great site! I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

I have Dazzle DVD Complete and when I try to burn a DVD it does not recognize my Sony DRU-500A burner. It recognizes my CD burner, but there no option to select my DVD burner. My burner has the current updates and it is recognized in Windows Explorer and it plays DVDs fine. In addition, the burner works great with RecordNow DX.

    I have XP Pro w/SP2 and a P4 system with 384MB RAM.

    Please HELP!

    Thanks in advance!!

BTW, does anyone know where I can get an upgrade to Deluxe for DVD Complete??

  2. I think you will find that you will have problems getting DAZZLE to recognise your drive at all.
The program is very old now and is no longer supported as Dazzle was taken over by Pinnacle.
If you can find the update to the Deluxe version it may recognise your drive but I've had the same problem as you and have never been able to find an update to the Deluxe version and I have looked for a very long time.

You may want to try and get hold of a copy of DVD-X-MAKER which is produced by 321 Studios and is an exact copy of Dazzle DVD Complete.
I recently managed to get a copy of this from a UK website for £6.
I havent yet tried it so I can't guarantee it will recognise your drive.

It's been a long time since I used Dazzle so I can't remember if there is the option to write a VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive, but you may want to check this.
If this option is available you could output to the VIDEO_TS folder then convert this to an ISO image using IMGtool Classic then burn the ISO image using DVDdecrypter.

    More info here,

    Good luck.

Do you mean Nero ASPI layer ??

If that's what you mean then the answer is, no not necessarily.

Download and install DVDdecrypter and then give it a go, I have never had to install an ASPI layer to use DVDdecrypter.

  5. According to the IMGTool download page http://www.coujo.de/ib2/index.php?act=module&module=include&incl_name=download

It says that I need Nero API to use it.

  6. No - you need to use IMGtool Classic (bit further down the page!) to make the ISO, which you then use to burn with DVD Decrypter - no need to use the IMG burn tool, and hence no need for Nero.

  7. pippas is correct, you need IMGtool classic as stated in my previous post.
This will work great with DVDdecrypter.
DVDdecrypter is regarded as one of the best programs for burning video discs and many users of this forum swear by it so I would recommend using this over any inbuilt software burning engines.
