Hi everyone. I'm monitoring some scientific experiment, and I'm recording the video with VirtualDub. Here how it looks like:

The picture is almost static. And i don't care about the quality. All i need - is to read the numbers on the tester. I already asked this on another forum, but i would like to hear more opinions.
As you see, the video data rate is very low - 3kB/s - so i can record 26 days non-stop on 5 gigabytes i have left. The only thing i'm worried about - could be there some problem with long video? I already recorded couple of experiments, and i was able to open the files in regualr player. But those were about 3-4 h ours long. I'm going to record a very long experiment, that can go for 2-3 days non-stop. And i really need it to be monitored. I used Xvid 1-pass as video compression. I even set up 2 computers to record the same scene, in case something goes wrong.
But i'm afraid that once i finished recording i will not be abot to open the files.
    Could there be such problem?
For example, can regular player open video file which is 2 days long , and play and scroll it fine?
    TIA.
Arguing with an idiot, make sure he isn't doing the same

You might need to be wary of FAT32's 4GB file limit (Your profile says W2K but ont if it's NTFS or FAT32).

Any software player should be able to play your file, but seeking may be slow with a file of that size.
    If in doubt, Google it.
