Hi,
The situation is that I'm learning Encore DVD right now, it's in my workstation and I compiled a short movie in it which after built it to the Image file from Encore. I don't have a DVD writer yet in the workstation, so I transferred the image via network to my laptop which fortunately has a DVD-RW. I renamed the .img file to .nrg, opened Nero in laptop and selected "Burn Image". Then it said something like it's a foreign image and I had to select a data rate and could set something else as well. I left them as they were and continued with the burning. Later on, the writing log mentioned for some reason that "Book Type automatically changed to DVD-ROM". I guess that this DVD may not work in a standalone player, because first of all it had some issue with the data rate and the DVD-ROM will certainly cause problems, won't it? I've tried the same method with other clips and projects as well and all the time both the Foreign Image and DVD-ROM messages come up. Any suggestions would be very appreciated and I don't know, maybe this all really has to be so, but I strongly doubt it.
Thanks a lot!!

You shouldn't have to rename anything..
I renamed the .img file to .nrg, opened Nero in laptop and selected "Burn Image". -
Well I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, but if I even leave it to .img, select All files when burning image in Nero and then executing, it still pops up with the same foreign image message...

download DVD decrypter and use it to burn the .IMG file...should not be a problem...

Alrighty, we're missing something here...
Rather than burning an image within Encore, Write to Folder instead.
This folder will be the same structure as the DVD player, and your DVD software player will read and understand.
On that note, you can double check with WinDVD, or PowerDVD, to make sure that you've authoured it correctly in the first place..
Once you've created the folder (C:\My Movie\VIDEO_TS), you can safely go to Nero and click the "Image Recorder DVD" button, and create the .NRG file by including the VIDEO_TS folder...
Or simply just copy the whole contents of the VIDEO_TS folder over the network, and burn at that station..
Good luck!!
