No, Got disk space?
Also move scratch disk to other than OS drive. One with gobs of space.
Also describe your machine if you want help. -
I think Premiere 6.5 cannot take more than 4hrs if your 6gig AVI is DivX format.

Scratch disk separate from OS drive... one with gobs of space... set Premiere up EXACTLY like in the tutorial... at a loss.
The material I am trying to import into Premiere is less than an hour long! It was captured using NeroVisionExpress, Type 2. -
Are we talking about a DV-AVI file or Divx et al.
Premiere is a DV format editor.
Standard educational response: AVI like Quicktime is a container, not a video standard. You can put anything you want into an AVI, even text if you are clever. You need to define a codec to define an AVI. -
Try use GSPOT and confirm if the clip from NeroVisionExpress is DV format.

Anything imported to Premiere needs to be converted to DV video or approved audio formats. The system can also be configured for some other Quicktime or Video for Windows formats including MJpeg, uncompressed, etc. when special capture hardware is used. Direct MPeg editing can be added with a $250 plug-in from Mainconcept.
