  1. Settings:

ffmpeg v 0.0.9s (with up to date binaries installed)
    Source: XVid mpeg4
    Target: DVD (ffmpeg)
    Encoder: default MPEG2 [.mpg] ffmpeg
Subs: .sub file "Loaded" (also have .idx file not not sure what to do with this)
Video/Filter parameters: 720x360 DVD 16:9 w/ 60/60 custom letter box settings to convert 1:2.35 PAR

Problem: If I click "Preview" the mplayer icon pops up in the doc and immediately quits (no error message). If I click "Play", nothing happens.

Any suggestions so that I can actually preview the subs? Tried a search on this topic but all the hits I got were for previous versions of ffmpegX I did not see any reports of mplayer dying on launch.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. "Play" should play the source movie with subs (but for .idx/.sub files you must load the .idx). You may also try the "Preview" button in the Filters tab.

  3. Correction, when I use mpeg2enc and select "decode with mplayer" then the preview button does work and subs do appear in the preview window. I see only kanji based subs (translating the English portion of the feed) however regardless of whether I load the .sub file or the .idx file. What I would like to see are English subs that show up to translate when the Japanese portion of the audio feed is running.

If there are multiple subs available in one of these files, is there any way to tell or is there any way to ensure that all will be selectable once the VIDEO_TS folder has been encoded?

    TIA.

  4. Unfortunately .idx/.sub support is only for single-language files for now.
