booktype settings?

I have a strange problem.
I use win2000 prof have nero latest versions, drive is the benq 1620

One of my 2000 machines will work fine with booktype settings with nero,
the other machine does not show the bookmark option settings under choose recorder.

I tried removing other programs and can't figure out why. Even removed and reinstalled nero.

Any help would be appreciated.

Only some Drives can do this,I'm not really up to date on them , Do a search On Book-setting.

If you don't already have the BenQ Applications, go to:

On that page you can read specs, FAQs, etc. Hit "Downloads" to get BookType Management v8.4, and Qscan. Configure the booktype app. That should solve your problem.

[EDIT] A word to the wise: A few people have posted on various other forums about their BenQ not burning media at rated speed, usually a big speed drop after about 50%. I experienced this myself with RecordNow 7.2 and DVDDecrypter. Changing write speed in DVDDecrypter from "MAX" to the media's rated speed solves it. (Haven't tried RecordNow again, don't usually use it for DVDs). Or run QScan first on the blank to see what speed it recommends for that particular media. If you get this problem with Nero, try DVDDecrypter.
