  1. Read a topic that LG GSA 4040B had a hard time burning Ritek G05 at 4x. Can someone confirm this? Or can some one confirm that there is no problems?

Was considering to buy Printables DVD-r, anyone that can give me a tips what will work good with LG GSA 4040B?

  2. I have had the problem with 3 different lg drives, They don't work well with the Riteks.

Switched to Tai Yuden disks and so far 50 out of 50 are perfect.

I have noticed slower burning on some brands with this burner also.

Where is this topic you mentioned? I would like to read it.

So far, 8X media I've tried on my 4040B
    TY02 burned at 4X
    MXLRG03 burned at 4X
    Ritek G05 burned at 2X
    ProdiscF01 burned at 2X

It seems that the cheaper 4X media burns at only 2X with this burner also. Burned a ton of Ritek G04s succesfully with this burner though.

Do you have the latest firmware or which firmware do you have? Also have you tried more then one sort of Ritek G05? Did you have good results even thue they only burnt at x2?

I know you didn't ask me, but its a free forum. Yes, the discs burnt at X2 only played well. And yes, firmware is latest. This burner is picky about which discs it will hbrun at 4X. That is all there is to it.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Thx for your respons. This means there is no reason at all to buy G05? I mean in fact you should stay away from them if they only burn in x2. But is it the same for all G05?
