HELP: backup of my DVD, I get: Media region mismatched

Hi all!

Im tring to backup my original DVD movie!
DVD X Copy platinum says "Error while reading. I/O problem".
DVD Decrypter says my device, the Sony DRU 500 2.1a (ATA): "Media region is mismatched to logical unit region.
DVD shrink says i have to change the region code on my Sony. How do i do that and can i make it region free instead?

Whats the solution to backup my discs from all over world?
Do I need to make my Sony DVD-ROM region free or/and how do I do that?

Go to the Tools section over on the left and look at "Region Free Tools".
You need either AnyDVD or DVD Region-Free.

I have ripped region 2 discs b4 and I live in region 1.

Just rip away

That is great, but you didn't really need anydvd.

next time, just unselect the display the region mismatch message option in dvddecrypter.

Thank you bazooka for posting that information. I just made a backup copy of my region-3 dvd movie using generic region-1 dvd r/rw 4x dual with DVD Decrypter 3.5 and DVDShrink 3.2.

DVD Region-Free software is not needed to backup my region-3 movies with my computer's region-1 dvd r/rw 4x dual, DVD_Decrypter and DVDShrink. Thanks again!
