    That's the problem!
When I use DScaler to preview, the image is perfect. When I try to capture in 720x480, apears a lot of random lines like these. I don't have problem with dropped frames.

    Please help me!
    Thanks!

  3. I'd recommended using Virtualdub to capture the video.

Your signal is unstable. I've seen the for varying reasons.

Are you using s-video? If so, quit. Use composite for this.

What other devices are being used? VCR? etc?

Some of these can cause this problem, when interacting with a bad tape.

When you answer all this, you may want to PM me with a link to this thread.

No, i'm using composite. I use a JVC VCR to capture.
But the tape is not bad, when I display on TV or DScaler the video is ok. These lines apears only if I capture in high resolutions (720x480). When I capture in 352/368x480 the image looks great!

Honestly ... go for the lazy way out.

If 352x480 works, then just do that.

Since this is coming from VHS source, you have nothing to gain by capturing maximum resolution.

I don't think it's worth the time to figure it out, not in this case, not this time.

It may have something to do with your card, capture software, or combination of the two.

It's all about the card you are using!
    Yours must be this: https://www.videohelp.com/capturecards.php?CaptureCardRead=81#comments

It seens that your card is a bt8xx based, so I suggest you btwincap drivers and virtualvcr for capturing. The higher you can, the better in your case, for various reasons!
Brazil use PAL M or something, which is very similar to that horror called PAL 60. You are a special case there... (You have to capture 720 x 480 with a PAL framerate...)

    Yes, it's my card.
I've tried to capture using that drivers and VirtualVCR and other programs also like iuVCR but the results are the same when capturing in 720x480.
Here in Brazil the system is PAL-M, argh!
I think the problem is with my mainboard. Because my old Intel P4 Motherboard died, I need to replace. I've bought ASUS P4V8X which uses VIA chipset.
I want to solute this but I don't know how!

You have a VIA chipset? Good luck!!!!
    Anyway: Capture PAL M @ 704 x 480 with 25fps, using the btwincap drivers.
Also, try dscaler . It might work better for you!

    VIA chipset... my nightmare!
The results are the same capturing @ 704x480 (25fps). Also I've tried to capture using DScaler and the things still the same! I think is something related to HD bw. Using the 'poorest' codec settings capturing @ 720x480 I get less lines like these... but I don't have problems with dropped frames!

DMA is enable. I think if it's not, the major problem is dropped frames. And I don't have any troubles with dropped frames, only with this lines. I've found some updates on viaarena.com and updated everything and my Asus motherboard bios also.
Miss you my Intel chipset motherboad!

Nforce is the answer! (AMD supporter...)

Yeap, that the good thing with an "wintel" PCs... They actually work when you buy them compact...

And stay away from VIA! (there are 2 things I hate most: Via chipsets and Princo CDs....)

With deinterlace the problem is not solved because some lines appears like a "tremolo" in the video.
