  1. I want to convert some Divx movies onto DVD to play on a DVD player. What program (or method) should I use that will allow me to do that, along with maintaining the resolution of the video? (most divx movies are wide screen, I want them to STAY in wide screen and not fill the entire screen)

    Is it possible?

That will depend upon your movie's resolution.
    Standard NTSC Resolutions:
    720 x 480 pixels MPEG2 (Called Full-D1)
    704 x 480 pixels MPEG2
    352 x 480 pixels MPEG2 (Called Half-D1, same as the CVD Standard)
    352 x 240 pixels MPEG2
352 x 240 pixels MPEG1 (Same as the VCD Standard)
    29,97 fps*

    Standard PAL Resolutions:
    720 x 576 pixels MPEG2 (Called Full-D1)
    704 x 576 pixels MPEG2
    352 x 576 pixels MPEG2 (Called Half-D1, same as the CVD Standard)
    352 x 288 pixels MPEG2
352 x 288 pixels MPEG1 (Same as the VCD Standard)
    25 fps*

Any other resolution will have to be changed to the above. If you have the resolution, then you can try DIKO or the FilmMachine 2 free Divx/Xvid to DVD programs.

    Happy Holidays!

There are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick.
