  1. I don't know if this is the right place to put it, but I have an urgent question. I use Video Editor 7.0 from Ulead MediaStudio Pro since a few weeks for editing videos. Now I've edited ALL my videos, I burned them, but they are all INTERLACED on the TV. I don't have this if I use other programms to edit videos.

I transfered my DV-Cassettes via Pinnacle Studio 8.1.0 to the PC, and opened them in Video Editor 7.0 (DV Pal 4:3). I lookt for an answer everywhere but I can't find it.

Does anyone know a solution, since I've worked very hard to edit all these videos, and it would take days to do it all over again.

    Btw, Merry Christmas everyone !

Define " INTERLACED on the TV" It's supposed to be interlaced on the TV.

What are you seeing that is different from other video?

Hopefully you saved your project files.... If so I suggest you go back and edit one so that it only has a 2 minute clip. Create two files, one using lower field first and another using upper field first. Burn them and see which one looks correct.

By default the ulead template uses lower field first which by my understanding is the common one for footage on a DV cam. It's possible your cam is upper field first. Another thing to note is if you haven't done so apply the updates from Ulead, if I remember correctly before you apply the latest updates the default setting is frame based output for the templates and the fields are designated field A and Field B.

Okay thanks. I'm gonna try that (even though it will take me hours to correct that if that's the problem. Cause I've cut all the videos, so I have to change the settings with every cut).

With Interlaced on the TV I mean, those interlaced lines that you get if you watch interlaced footage on your PC.

I have the JVC DV-500 btw.

Edit: I'm trying it right now, but when I click with the right mouse button on the video and then go to: Media Source Options, I can't change the field settings. Even though I changed the Field Order when I opened a new project.

When you your done editing....... You go to create video from the file menu.... select the mpeg template and switch it.

If you saved all your edits in project files you will only need to encode it again. The thing to note is you have to seperate how you use the project settings and create file settings. Project settings should match your source video to speed up the preview, create video settings will be for final output. Project settings real mean nothing unless you use them for final output.... RTFM I think it's covered in the first chapter or so.

That's just for the preview and will only slow the preview down.... Also covered in the manual. That's a high end editing app, you should read it twice.

I've read some pages of the manual. But the app is in general not that hard, so I didn't read it all.
