    Hello.
Don't know if this is the correct category to post my topic, so please move it if necessary.
I have Ulead Media Studio Pro 8. I know how to slow down a video using this software.
When you slow the video, the audio slows automatically also.
Is there any way to slow Video but not Audio using Ulead?
If not, what software could do this?

    THank you.

I don't have version 8, but it is probably the same as earlier versions. After putting the video clip on your timeline, right-click and the clip and choose "Split". This will separate the video from the audio. Both items will still be "selected", so click the mouse on something else to deselect the clip. Now you can right-click on the video clip to change the speed. Obviously, if you slow down your video the video clip will run longer on the timeline than your audio clip, so you will need to add more audio or chop down your video to match up the duration times.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you, i will try that and let you know.
    Another quick question.
What's the best software for video editing? Money is not an issue.
    I mean, the best software!
Something that Hollywood uses or CNN or any well-known TV Station.
I've worked with Adobe products before, but i don't find them very easy to work with, so i was wondering if anyone knows any professional grade software editing products.

    Thank you.

Ahh the old "best" question. lol.. The standard reply is what ever best fits your needs. Ulead Media Studio should be able to accomplish just about anything you could imagine as far as editing as well as the other two commonly used editors Adobe Premiere and Vegas. The limitations you may experience with MSP is you won't find as many third party plug-ins.

A good arsenal of video software usually consists of many applications for specific tasks, a decent image editor, effects application, or even the freely available solutions like Virtualdub and Avisynth. Stepping up from software based solutions requires a large investment into hardware based systems like Matrox, Avid and Canopus.

In the end it all comes down to creativity, a product that allows you too exercise that creativity and the skill to execute the task correctly.

As far as Hollywood and CNN I'm not in the industry but they are most likely using proprietary systems built either in house or for them.

Well, thank you. I guess i should go into Hollywood, into a mission impossible heist and steal all their proprietary software.
Anywas, if you had 1 milion dollars to blow on a piece of software, what would you buy?
Please don't change subject, i know you can do a milion other things with 1 milion dollars, but i'm talking stricktly software.
What kind of software and hardware would you buy with that kind of money?
As far as the hardware, you can buy an alienware pc, and problem is solved. A high end one cost about 10.000 dollares.

I'm not aware of any software that cost a million dollars... For a million you can hire someone to develope whatever you want.

Unless they make a video editing station you're only buying a over-priced piece of gaming hardware. The video hardware like Matrox that I mentioned above are custom built machines that can only be purchased through a select few vendors. The "latest and greatest" Matrox start around 15K . These differe form a alienware because of course you get Matrox hradwre which allows for real time editing, special affects etc. It's specifically made for video, they even throw in a copy of Adobe Premeire.

Great! Thank you for the information about Matrox. It looks like they are pretty serious about video editing and you could call them 'Television Grade'.
And it looks like they have an office in my state.
Thank you very much, i will stop at their office and take a look.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro! I've been using it since version 5, know my way around it can can do anything I wish to do with it. I've had a try at others but have always found that MSP does what I want it to do in a way that I am used to working. That is the answer to your question of which is the best, whichever you get on best with! They all do the same job, it's how easy you find you can work with them that matters.

If I had your million dollars though, I'd then build (not buy somebody elses idea of what they think I would need) the fastest computer I could and spend the change on a couple of houses, a Ferrari as an everyday car and a Koenisegg CCX for fun.

(in case you hadn't realised, fast cars is my other hobby after video....)

Well, it's not like i have a milion dollars to spend on a piece of software, but i was saying hypotheticaly, if money was growing on your backyard what type of hardware/software would you buy.
But, so far looks like Matrox would do the job.
Pricey, but someday when i save up 15 ~ 25 K, i will buy one.

Thats the higher end units, they do offer cheaper systems. If you really want to invest in something like that do some research
