  1. I am trying to extract small part of music from a dvd movie but there is speech at the same time. can i extract only music to wav or mp3 ?

    Most likely not, if the speech and music isn't on separate audio tracks. There's a utility called Vocal remover that supposedly removes lyrics from music, leaving the instrumental part alone, but I've never tried it myself. Might work to remove speech from background music too.

    If the audio is encoded as 5-channel, and the music and dialog are on separate channels, you might be able to, but more than likely they are mixed into the same channel, and you can't separate them.

    Actually, I tried the vocal remover out of curiosity, and, depending on how the vocals is located over the channels, it works surprisingly well! I can see a new Karaoke business opportunity

  5. ok guys i was able so far to extract audio from dvd but still can not seperate the tracks as i could not find any tool yet. I tried vocal remover but it does not seperate completely. I need a way to have the music only, any tool free or not i will get it.

    Completely or not depends on source material. I've noticed from "almost 100%" on some, to "not at all" for others.
    I'm afraid that's how well it can be done, no matter how much you spend on the task. Only option as I see it, is to get the raw unmixed audio recordings from the producers...
