I have a lot of video files taking up to much space on my hard drive. I would like to store them on a dvd or cd, what ever is recommended by forum users, I am using xp home with Nero 6.0 and a Nec burner...thanks

I'd burn the files to DVD-ROM (DVD+ or - R)
CDs are too small, and you'll end up using way more of them. DVDs are so cheap now it's actually less expensive to go the DVD route.
If you only need a few DVDs to hold them all, you might want to go the RW route. They're more expensive but if all you need is a few, they'll allow you to erase and reuse
