problems burning a MDF image file (please help)

im trying to burn a game. the game file is a MDF image (657MB) with a MDS image (5.28KB) i open the MDS file in alcohol then i tryed to burn it and it saids "something is wrong with the recording procedure!please check the log file and report any errors to technical support" what does this mean? is the MDS file bad? is the MDS like a CUE file? if so how can i make anther one? any help would be great thanks
