  1. I am downloading a file that is mdf (4.4 gigs). I cant use WMP to play it or a DVD player. Do I have to convert? I have Nero 6.6 Burning ROM....

    If it's a dvd-video iso then you can try open it with VLC. Or mount it as a virtual dvd using daemon tools. Or burn it using imgburn.

    If it is a .mdf file, it was probably created by Alcohol 120% and would be a image file. VLC should be able to open it and ImgBurn should be able to burn it. If it's around 4.4GB, most likely a DVD file, with a VIDEO_TS folder inside. But it may be PAL or NTSC and you may have to convert it to one or the other to play it on a set top player. NTSC is needed for most US players.

    He just told you: either burn the image file to disc and then rip the disc and convert, or mount the image file to a virtual disc and then rip the virtual disc and convert. He also suggested which apps to try.
