So I'm in the process of converting a VHS tape into a DVD. The tape is about 75 minutes long. I'm using MyDVD's internal capturing software because the videos it makes work best with MyDVD. Anyway, MyDVD's video detection is insanely sensitive, so in the middle of the capture, if the video has a pitch black frame for one second, it stops and says there's no video(rolls eyes), or if there's an effect in the video where the screen blurs up a little, it says no video(rolls eyes again). Is there any way I can make MyDVD less sensitive about this? Or is there something else I can do to get it to capture the whole video without screwing up?

I had this same exact problem, with a tape with many starts and stops with static and black screens in between. I found Nero Express would capture it, static and all. Of course, if you don't have Nero, this doesn't help you, but you could try one of the freeware programs.
