  1. using tmpgenc to compile a dvdr but when i try to add a file it does not have the same audio stream and I cannot include. Have searched through here to see if it is possible to change the PCM audio to AC3. Tried BeSweet but cannot locate the file in which the audio is situated to load to change. Can anyone offer some advice here. thanks

Demux the audio (Seperate it from the video) with TMPGEnc encoder or VirtualDub. Then you should be able to convert it to the format you want.

There can be so much more to this that you really need to study the 'Guides' to the left to get the whole story.

    Hi zappfra,

Use ffmpeggui to do WAV to AC3. Very simple, very quick.

As it uses the ffmpeg engine (as does BeSweet) the AC3 is not 100% compliant and it's been reported that a very small number of Pioneer models don't like it. That said, that means that the overwhelmingly vast majority of othe stand-alone DVD players are (should be) OK with it.

    Good luck...

I don't use tmpgenc, so I may be off track here, but from other posts I eblieve you can create multiple title sets in tmpgenc (may be called tracks ?). If this is the case, you should be able to include different audio formats, so long as you don't mix them in the same title set.

    Correct.

I believe so, though I've not done it myself. @ zappfra - Give it a go, it won't hurt or waste much time. And it may just work...

  6. thanks for the advice , will try a few things. Tmpgencdvd author will not let me add the file with the different audio stream to the folder for the disc I am trying to collate. Bulk of files are PCM, the troublesome one is AC3 Dolby. When I tried using Besweet and attempting to load the audio file, I cannot see a audio file (.wav), only the vob files etc, how do I bring this up ?

    Hi zappfra,

    2 things:

    1. I'd recommend (probably for future reference) that ypu get the audio from PCM (also known as WAV) to AC3 as PCM/WAV is uncompressed and takes up loads of room, whereas AC3 is a lot smaller filesizes with negligible (unnoticeable) quality loss.

Use ffmpeggui to get WAV to AC3. You can then use your original file video and audio file as just the video source, and use audio.ac3 as the audio source.

    2. As guns1inger said, you need to demux (demultiplex = split) the audio and video out of the VOB files before you can convert it. Look in the forums and guides on how to demux.

But, that said, if you do as I suggest in 1 it means that you don't have to go into the hassle of 2...
