Hello,
I read a lot in this forum in the past and it always helped me. Thanks to all the users who were involved in the topics which helped me.
But this time I finally decided to register myself and start a topic with one of my problems.
Ok . I want to change the audio layer without re-encoding the video. Because I want to create an so to speak ultimate version of an amateur music video footage. I have two versions.:
1. direct master to dvd transfer - the audio sound is very very bad and useless.
2. old 3rd generation VHS copy with very good sound.
I'm using the following software: DVD decrypter, womble mpeg-2vcr, dvd-lab pro 2.5
So I decrypted both videos as one video file per video with the ifo mode of dvd decrypter. Then I opened both files in mpeg2vcr and cut them so that they both start at the same frame. Then I saved them.
I imported both in DVDlab pro with the "demultiplex to elementery streams" mode. Then I inserted the good audio
of the 2nd version and the good video of the 1st version to the project, compiled, done.
The video is synch with the audio, so that is great . The problem is that the outputed new DVD is only 3,23 gb although the master video file was 3,71. The elementary audio files have both the same size, so that can't be the problem.
So I think that the video got probably re-encoded by dvd lab. That's very bad because that is a quality loss.
I really wanted to do the change of the audio layer without getting any video quality loss.
if anyone could help me that would be very great.
thanks in advance
regards

here are the sizes:
cutted video1:
audio: 154 mb
video: 3,22 gb
cutted video2:
audio: 153 mb
video: 3,54 gb
hmm I guess everything is alright then.
