Last June, in order to store my DV clips, I decided to use the VCD technology. So I bought myself a nice set of toys : AMD Athleon 1.2G, 60G HD, 256 RAM, 16/10/40 Plextor writer, Adobe Prmier 6.0 AND EZCreator 5. Ever since, have been fighting EZ to get the right kind of output and been rather disapointed with the mpg1 level of quality. Now HP has just come out with dvd-writer dvd100i that PC Mag online says all kinds of nice things about plus its bundle of softwares. So I'm just about to conclude to scrap my investment in CD writing ( heck, after Amazon and Nortel, I feel no pain no more ) and go dvd. It's the media of the future, has all the features and flexibility of Cd and will do more justice to my DV clips. And good riddance EZC5!
But I'm starting to doubt my own judgement ( which my wife and kids have a definite opinion about ) and looking for some advice. Any words of wisdom out there ? Am I going from bad to worse ? Anybody with experience with the HP dvd writer ? Will appreciate your comments and suggestions.
Best regards from beautifull Quebec City

I have the Pioneer DVD burner, which not only burns DVD's, but CD-R and CD-RW AND DVD-RW.

You can play the DVD-R's in most NEWER (less than two years old) DVD players.

I got it for $799, but I've seen it recently on the net for under $500.
