I've been using VSO's ConvertXtoDVD software for a couple of years now and I've noticed it's very temperamental. When creating a DVD from a single file I usually have little or no problems but when I try to create one out of multiple files or something longer than 2 hours I get either a bad voice sync or a jumpy video that skips every couple of seconds.

I'd like information on how to either fix my converter so I can get a good 3 hours to a disc or let me know the better converter I should be using. I just want things as painless as possible. I consider myself a moderate user in that I understand a lot of the concepts of the different encoders and such but I'm not ready to make a DVD from scratch using bit rate calculators and such.

Any help you can give would be really appreciated

    Are you using latest version?

You could try some other all in one tools like DVD Flick, WinAVI and see how it works.

I definitely recommend winavi - easy to use, quick, you can vary settings to create better quality bigger files - or less quality for smaller files to get more on your dvd.

You shouldn't. IMO, 2 hours of Video DVD in decent quality is max on a DVD-5

well good is in the eye of the viewer.

to some people, nothing less than retail DVD quality is good enough,

and others think KVCD is good, those that like KVCD will think 6hrs on a DVD looks good

I think the majority of us fall 'in between' those two examples

I have made some vids with over 3 hours of stuff and had no problems with convertXtoDVD.It helps that the various vid clips are the same format and same screen type. You no not one thats was made in wide format and one that was full screen. If you mix those you will have some problems. I know i tried it and it doesn't work to well. DVD flick does work pretty good but it's slower in my opinion. I'dd stay away from winavi its garbage compared to ConvertXtoDVD
