Hey please move this post to the appropriate forum as I was not sure where to post it thanks. My question is about Imtoo dvd creator and play times.
If I add 3 mpegs to the program to burn on a blank dvd of 4.7 gb/ 120 minutes, and the total size/time after conversion is just under 4.6gb/180 minutes, will this dvd have playing issues since it surpasses the 120 minutes mark capable of the blank dvd? Or will they play just fine but perhaps I will lose quality?
Thanks

DVDs don't have a set amount of playing time. It depends on the bitrate they are encoded with. But they do have a set size of about 4.37GB. Some programs read that as 4.7GB, just bad math.
Bitrate is determined by the playing time of all videos combined vs the size of the media used. As a 'rule of thumb', one hour per DVD is best quality, 2 hours is good, more and the quality decreases fairly rapidly. But quality is also dependent on source quality.
You might try a bitrate calculator from our tools, like the VideoHelp Bitrate calculator to see what bitrate you will end up with. You can check the bitrate of your burned discs by using Gspot on one of the VOBs.
You might also take a look at 'WHAT IS' DVD to the upper left on this page for the DVD specifications, format and structure.
