These are RICOHJPNR01 or Ritek R03 discs and even without a $10 rebate they are a great price. I have received the R03s and they do not burn well at 8X (the rated speed) but are very good burns on my Liteon 812S. Considering NewEgg's reputation, this is a steal. They must be making room for the newer 8X discs as this rebate has been extended once and the price has dropped from $50 in only a week.

Majority of the people have gotten that on newegg I see..... Uh R03 applies to 8x Ridata, right? I see so many good reviews.. its a good deal.. wondering if they work good with a HP Burner? And the Samsung's 50 DVD+R pack 4x arent anymore Yuden ???

So you bought the 8x then? Just checking......so I shouldnt have a problem with these then? Will they burn all they way to the end of the disc? Cuz I used cheap media like Great Quality and my movies would start freezing or stopped towards the end on 2 hr. movies...

I couldn't resist. Since I have to now REBACKUP my stuff I went ahead and ordered some of these. I'll see what I get when they come in. If they are 8x then that means fun times on my G5.

All my ritek r03 burn @8x all the way to the end with good results on a liteon 812s@832s with vsoa firmware.

If I get the 8x I'll give 'em a shot on my G5 (it has the 8x Pioneer drive in it) but my PC burner is still a 4x liteon so its a no go for testing on it.

Either way its a good price on Ricoh disc at 4x, so if they are 8x it just extra bonus.

Ricoh R01 has always burned to the very end for me perfectly. And with bit setting the compatibiity has been great.

They burned but the Kprobe errors were MUCH higher than they should have been based on multiple scans I had seen with the 812S. My recall is that the PI errors were in the high 100s at 8X and in the low 20s at 4X. These discs do play OK as the cut off for playability is around 280 and I was well below. Interestingly these were clearly labeled right on the disc as 4X and yet the media code comes out at R03 at 8X. Email to Ritek had no explanation.

They burn OK just higher PI errors than I want. The R03s I got were rated at 8X when I checked the media ID but were labeled 4X. Jou guys will probably get the Ricohs anyway. That seems to be what they are shipping now.

Well I burn at 2.4x , so it shouldnt be a problem for me then?

Should be no problem at all. But unless your burner is just 2.4x there is no reason to burn Ricohs 4x at any speed slower then 4x.
