Im new to conversion so please be gentle..Im testing Procoder 2 (after doing some reading)to see if it will fit my needs. Im converting vhs to dvd. im using advc 50 to dv then I would like to use procoder to resize to 352 X 480.I cant seem to find this option. Is it possible. How about 2.0 AC3? one more question...can you frameserve with one of the capture programs like scenalyzer or windv strait to an encoder? thanx

I meant using procoder to resize to 352 X 480 (half D1)and encode to MPEG2(vob)

  3. Procoder won't do AC3, but it will encode to whatever ratio you input.

  4. In the target area, select "mpeg file".
    .

    .
On the next screen, change the width and height to whatever you want, as long as it's legal for the type of file you're creating.....ie: 352x480 for mpeg 2, etc.

  5. By the way, I do the same thing you are.

ADVC to capture VHS as DV file using Scenalizer, and Procoder to encode the MPEG-2 file.

Then on to TMPGenc DVD Author to finish the job.

    Very good results.

  8. No, I don't frameserve.

I capture as Canopus DV Codec, with Scenalyzer.

Load that file into Procoder, and convert.

I always use Maser Quality 2 pass VBR @ 6000

If the source is VHS then I use half D1.

Everything else I use full D1

Then, load those two files (video + audio) into TMPGEnc DVD Author, and have it convert the audio to AC3, (to save room) and make the menus, etc.

I always convert the finished folders to an ISO file, and mount it to a virtual drive to check everything, before doing the DVD burn with DVD Decrypter.

If I have to shrink it a little, DVD Shrink will make the ISO then.

If the size is ok, then I use ImgTool Classic 0.91.3 to make the ISO.
