Been using Scenalyzer for a few years...great program. Just tried my first capture on my Vista pc, and while the tape index was built fine, the Batch Capture dialog got all freaky on me.

First attempt to start the batch...tape started playing for three or four seconds (my first clip in the batch started at 00:00:00;00), then stopped and the camcorder went into crazy mode, chugging back and forth with extremely short rewinds and plays...rewinds and plays...several times until it just stopped. At this time, all the batch clips changed to Failed status. Not sure, but I think the number of short rewind-play bursts might coincide with the number of clips in the batch. The tape's timecode never got past those first few seconds that had started playing.

Reset all the clips' statuses to Capture, and tried again, from the same Batch Capture dialog. Same problems as the first time.

Any suggestions? Does sclive not play well with Vista?

    Thanks!

FYI...Tried running a batch capture again, after switching my Vista account to be an administrator...seems to have run fine. I also set up the exe to run in Windows XP compatibility mode, but of those two changes, I'd bet the admin change was the one that did it.

Just for general info, you might try WinDV and see if it has the same problem. If not, check with the Scenalyzer website and maybe they have some ideas. But it seems a lot of programs need 'Administrator' mode with Vista. Maybe related to the security settings.

I don't have my ADVC-100 DV converter set up at present with my Vista computer, but I'm curious about the problem.

I had just sent an email to the Scenalyzer folks when I thought about trying the two changes mentioned above. Once it worked, I sent them an email with an explanation of what I had done, so hopefully they'll figure out the real issue(s) add it to their FAQ.
