  2. I've got the PCTV Studio Rave package which is probably a bit different. However. I've always found the PCTV Vision program very frustrating which is a common complaint. I never had audio sync problems with it but I've had plenty of others.

I now use VirtualDub to capture video, using the BTWinCap drivers http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ giving me much better quality out of the card (higher resolutions). Unfortunately, I don't know of a neat way to tune in stations with this set-up which doesn't bother me since I capture from VHS, but might bother you if you're capturing from TV sources. You could connect a VCR to your PC and use the VCR's tuner - that might work. Any suggestions from anyone?

I should point out that the BTWinCap drivers replace the Pinnacle ones and PCTV Vision won't work afterwards. Only use them if necessary, otherwise you could try different versions of PCTV Vision. Try searching the Pinnacle forums for more help.

  3. I've got a Rave card and got the pro drivers for it, i've seen a great improvment in the performance since updating, i didnt really get it to work properly until i changed the software, with the pro drivers you can capture direct to Mpeg VCD/SVCD/DVD, I use WinVDR Pro for capturing DivX real time using the card, I've tried a few of these cards and found the PCTV the best out of them and only let down by the bugs in the Rave software, The only difference between the Rave and the Pro is the software (Bug Free!!!) a remote that comes with the Pro version and the ability to record direct to Mpeg and of course a price difference, you can buy the drivers from pinnacle or get them off the net there are plenty of sources out there
