Is anyone else having problems with their remote control for the Philips DVP642? Mine is very sluggish and unresponsive. I need to press the buttons several times or hold them down to get a response. I'm wondering if they are all bad or if I should return mine or possibly buy a programmable unit to replace it. Perhaps it's the receiver?

mine works fine. philips also makes universal dvd remote (about 14.99$ at your local Best Buy) which DOES have the eject button

Eject happens when you hold down the Stop key for 2 or 3 seconds. It will close the DVD drawer also.

Mine works fine. In fact, it's very touchy. If I hold a button more than just a second it tries to do that command twice. On my remote, you just barely touch a button to make it work.

Thanks for the tip! It either wasn't in the instructions or I forgot that long after I had lost the instructions. They have the buttons so close together I guess they couldn't write "Eject" next to stop, so we'd know. That's my only gripe about the unit is the buttons being so close together. It's been excellent in all other ways.
