  1. I made a vcd and when I play it in my dvd player the picture shows blocks. What can I do to fix it?

    Not a whole lot.

    Is the original video a really clean source? The truth is garbage in - garbage out.

    VCD is a very low-res format. Since the bitrate is so low, macroblocks are almost (dare I say completely?) unavoidable.

    If possible, try SVCD or miniDVD (Best yet, DVD).

  3. yes it is a clean source. it looks good on my pc but not vcd

  4. As s2k says VCD ain't the best format around but if you know what settings to use and your source is clean you should be able to get a decent picture. I'd do a test on the parts of the movie that have macroblocks on em - if your using TMPGenc ensure the option for Motion Search Precision" is set to High. Again as s2k said use SVCD if you looking for better quality.

    Make a better VCD. How? Try TMPGEnc and follow one of the guides.

    try the disc in a different dvd player or burn on fuji film brand discs i have a 2 apex ad-1200 dvd players,one has more features and probably was an improvement on the first,one ad-1200 blocks up(green) while playing the other plays them perfect,i also have noticed fuji film disc always play perfect for me.
