    Hello people

Internet is awesome. Have been lead here from one point to another and here I am now, hoping to get a bit closer to a solution.

Alright, I have a HDCP fit PC with all the neccessary components, even bought a couple of BluRay movies the other day.
But Windows Media Player can't play BluRay films under Vista ... so apparently I need a software solution for that.

A codec for WMP maybe ?

    A software player like ... Cyberlink's PowerDVD 8.0 Ultra ... or Corel's WinDVD 9.0 Plus maybe ?

Cyberlink's PowerDVD 8.0 Ultra is incompatibe with G33/35 chipsets (my motherboard is Asus P5E-VM HDMI with G35 chipset) unfortunately. The installation of the test version doesn't even work because of that.

The test version of Corel's WinDVD 9.0 Plus does play back normal DVDs but not BluRay films - unless activated, that's pretty sad.

Do you have another idea of how to playback my BluRay DVDs plz ?

I can't tell you how excited I would be to get this finally sorted.

    Thanks for any reply though.

    My specs ...
    CPU: Wolfdale E8400 3GHz
    Memory: 2x 2GB = 4GB
    Motherboard: Asus P5E-VM HDMI
    BluRay Player: Pioneer
    Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 2493 HM
Graphics card: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT

If you want all the features of a blu-ray you need to use PowerDVD, WinDVD or ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme. I haven't seen any other software blu-ray players yet.
